Chief Uche Nnaji, former minister of innovation, science and technology on January 29, 2026, paid an impromptu visit to Enugu State marking his first public return to Enugu State since his resignation from the federal cabinet in late 2025.
The visit was both personal and symbolic. In a deeply personal visit, the former minister first went to the mortuary to pay his last respect to his late mother, reflecting a moment of deep personal loss and reflection.
Thereafter, he proceeded to pay homage to the elder statesman and former Governor of old Anambra State, Chief Jim Nwobodo in recognition of his long-standing role in the political history of the state.
Chief Uche Nnaji visit attracted massive turnout, as a large crowd of people from different parts of Enugu State came out in mass to welcome him. The massive turn out and show of support underscored his continued relevance and strong grassroots connection within the state’s political landscape.
Chief Uche Nnaji has been a significant figure in Enugu APC. Through Chief Nnaji about 1,500 youths has been alleviated out of poverty within his two years as a minister, attracting investments and infrastructure projects to the state prior to his resignation.
