A support group within the All Progressives Congress (APC), known as the North‑West APC Youth Frontiers, has dismissed allegations of anti‑party activities levelled against Rep. Sani Aminu Jaji, describing the claims as unfounded and politically motivated.
Rep. Sani Aminu Jaji represents the Kauran Namoda/Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency in Zamfara State.
He has previously faced allegations of engaging in actions contrary to the APC’s interests, including accusations from other party factions in 2025 and reports of suspension by the Zamfara APC chapter over alleged anti‑party conduct.
The APC Youth Frontiers position comes amid ongoing political debates and internal disputes within party structures in parts of the North‑West and other regions as the country prepares for the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued in Sokoto on Tuesday, North‑West APC Youth Frontiers Coordinator Malam Danladi Cika said the allegations against Jaji were deliberate attempts to smear the lawmaker’s reputation and undermine his standing within the party.
Cika described Jaji as a “formidable legislator” and an astute politician who played significant roles in strengthening the APC’s performance during the 2023 general elections, not only in Zamfara State but also across the North‑West and nationally.
The youth group outlined Jaji’s engagement with key stakeholders, including religious leaders, Islamic organisations in Kaduna, the Arewa Farmers Association and student unions, as evidence of his commitment to supporting the APC’s electoral success.
The statement also highlighted Jaji’s roles as Director of Contact and Mobilisation for the APC in the North‑West and as a presidential return agent during the 2023 elections, noting these responsibilities as proof of his loyalty to the party.
Cika described the allegations as the work of “failed political opportunists” who were unable to deliver results in their own polling units and sought to use false claims to diminish Jaji’s influence.
The youth group reaffirmed its support for Jaji and pledged continued loyalty to the APC leadership at the ward, state and national levels, calling on party members to remain united and focused on strengthening the party ahead of future political engagements.
In its statement, the support group said, “These allegations are a deliberate attempt to smear the lawmaker’s reputation and undermine his political standing within the party.”
The public rejection of anti‑party allegations against a sitting federal lawmaker by an APC support group underscores ongoing internal party tensions and factional disputes in parts of northern Nigeria.
These disputes have implications for party cohesion as national and state level party structures prepare for upcoming elections.
The reaffirmation of support for Jaji may influence internal party dynamics in Zamfara State and the broader North‑West region, where multiple factions have at times publicly clashed over leadership and political strategy.
