Gombe State Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya has inaugurated major road projects and newly constructed secretariats for the Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in a ceremony in Gombe, the state capital, the governor’s office said on Monday.
The unveiling of infrastructure projects by state governments is part of routine development activity aimed at improving public amenities, transportation networks and administrative services at sub‑national level.
Gombe State operates a governance structure that includes LCDAs created to bring government closer to people at the grassroots.
Governor Yahaya inaugurated the Gombe Ring Road, a newly completed arterial road designed to improve traffic flow within the state capital and facilitate movement between key city districts.
The governor also commissioned the secretariats of the state’s newly created LCDAs, including buildings to house administrative offices and support local governance.
At the event, the governor said the projects were part of his administration’s efforts to boost infrastructure, expand urban planning and deliver services to residents.
A statement from the governor’s media team said several dignitaries, traditional leaders and council chairmen attended the ceremony, which included inspections of the completed works.
A statement issued by the governor’s office said: “The commissioning of these critical infrastructure projects marks another milestone in our drive to improve connectivity and enhance governance at the grassroots through functional LCDAs.”
The commissioning of road projects and council secretariats in Gombe State reflects ongoing state government efforts across Nigeria to expand infrastructure and strengthen local administrative capacity.
Such developments can have implications for economic activity, service delivery and urban mobility within states.
