One of the first promises of Peter Mbah’s administration that never came to fulfillment. We thought he meant well only to realize that it was an avenue to introduce his high tariffs.

Not quite long after this propaganda, water bill came, ten times what it was previously. We paid, thinking all will be okay only to discover that it was a hoax.

Then came high electricity tariff, tax tripled, Eswama came rolling. We thought that was all.

People’s land were converted from rural to urban and confiscated. Heavy fines in form of tax, business premises, property tax, ground rent etc was introduced, the masses cried but to no avail. Land registration skyrocketed. Certificate of ownership (CofO) was increased from 100 Naira per square meter to 12,000 Naira per square meter.

The worst came in November 2025, when all tenants and landlords were served a criminal summon from the Enugu state Magistrate court to pay for house Eswama from 2023 till date with penalty or face criminal prosecution.

Part of Ogbete market, Osisatech and Ogige Nsukka was destroyed and many families rendered useless without compensation only for the governor to build his gas stations and parks. Why is this government’s policies always against the masses?

It’s an endless economic pressure on the citizens of Enugu State and as we complain, our dear Governor is busy boasting of having the highest revenue and receiving awards for that.

Our budget for 2026 is a hooping 1.62 trillion Naira double that of Anambra State. 800 billion out of that will come from revenue.

Everyone is in panic mode cos of the economic crunch we will face in Enugu this year 2026. We keep asking, is there no allocations coming to Enugu State and what are they used for. I wonder why some people are still clamoring for another 4 years of this deadly administration.
