PDP BoT Chairman Praises Otti and Tinubu on Infrastructure Delivery in Abia

Senator Adolphus Wabara, Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has praised the infrastructure work of Abia State Governor Alex Otti and acknowledged federal government projects under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during a statement in Umuahia, Abia State.

The Peoples Democratic Party has been experiencing internal disputes, with different factions asserting leadership authority.

Within this context, Wabara addressed the state of development in Abia, commenting on projects attributed to the state governor and the federal government’s role in broader infrastructural initiatives.

Wabara highlighted what he described as achievements in road infrastructure, including the reconstruction of Port Harcourt Road in Aba, ongoing works on other road projects and improvements in various sectors under Governor Otti’s administration.

He also referenced federal infrastructure initiatives under the leadership of President Tinubu.

The BoT chairman said these infrastructure developments were visible across sectors such as roads, healthcare, education and urban transit, which he said reflected efforts to improve living conditions in the state.

Wabara made his remarks while addressing reporters in Umuahia, emphasising what he described as performance across different sectors without identifying specific new projects by name in his comments.

Wabara said: “As an elder statesman and stakeholder in Abia politics, I have a moral duty to acknowledge good governance, irrespective of party affiliation.”

Wabara’s comments reflect how political actors within Nigeria’s major parties engage with public perceptions of infrastructure and governance ahead of the 2027 elections.

Praise for state and federal infrastructure projects by a senior party figure underscores ongoing debates over development achievements across different levels of government in the country.
