APC defends Tinubu as the All Progressives Congress responded to growing criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, accusing opposition elements of spreading misinformation and insisting that ongoing reforms are delivering measurable results across key sectors. The response comes amid increasing political debate over the performance of the current administration, particularly on economic reforms, security, and public welfare.
President Bola Tinubu’s government has introduced several policy changes since assuming office in 2023, including fiscal and economic reforms aimed at stabilising the economy and improving long-term growth. These measures have drawn mixed reactions from political opponents and stakeholders, contributing to heightened public discourse on governance outcomes.
In a statement issued in Sokoto by Malam Yusuf Dingyadi, Senior Special Assistant on Media to the APC National Chairman, the party said APC defends Tinubu against what it described as deliberate attempts to undermine the administration. Dingyadi accused critics, particularly those linked to opposition parties, of using social media platforms to spread what he called false and misleading narratives aimed at discrediting government achievements.
He stated that such actions reflect political desperation and disregard for national stability and collective progress. According to him, APC defends Tinubu based on what it described as visible progress in sectors including security, infrastructure, agriculture, education, and healthcare delivery.
He said: “The use of vulgar language, reckless criticism and the deliberate spread of false information is unacceptable.” The APC spokesperson further maintained that the current administration has initiated multiple reforms and development projects aimed at improving citizens’ welfare and strengthening the economy.
He also emphasised that the party’s National Working Committee remains committed to supporting policies that enhance economic growth and national security. Dingyadi urged Nigerians to disregard what he described as politically motivated misinformation and instead support government programmes designed for long-term development.
The position that APC defends Tinubu reflects ongoing political contestation between the ruling party and opposition groups. It highlights the role of public communication and narrative control in shaping perceptions of governance performance. The development also underscores the importance of factual reporting and institutional accountability in Nigeria’s democratic environment.
