The decision was announced during a meeting of the APC National Working Committee in Abuja.

Where congresses are incomplete or committees have completed their tenure, caretaker committees are appointed to sustain administrative functions.

At the National Working Committee meeting, party leaders confirmed the APC caretaker extension for both states.
The acting national chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, presided over the decision, highlighting the need for uninterrupted party administration.
The extension allows the committees in Ekiti and Osun to manage party affairs, coordinate activities, and engage members while ward, local, and state congresses are finalised.
Party sources confirmed that the committees will continue their responsibilities until the national convention and related electoral processes are concluded.
Senator Adamu said: “We have resolved that the APC caretaker extension for Ekiti and Osun committees is necessary to ensure seamless continuation of party activities and to maintain organisational cohesion.”
State officials welcomed the decision and expressed readiness to continue facilitating party operations, including mobilising members and coordinating logistics for the forthcoming congresses.
