A major political show of strength is expected in Ekiti State as top leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including Vice President Kashim Shettima, governors, ministers, lawmakers, and thousands of supporters gather for the Oyebanji mega rally in Ado-Ekiti. The rally is scheduled for Tuesday at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, New Iyin Road, and is expected to begin at 11:00 a.m. It will serve as the grand finale of campaigns ahead of the governorship election in the state.
According to the Ekiti APC Campaign Council, the Oyebanji mega rally will bring together a wide coalition of political stakeholders and grassroots supporters from across the state and beyond.
The event is expected to showcase what organisers describe as overwhelming support for Governor Biodun Oyebanji and his deputy, Chief (Mrs.) Monisade Christianah Afuye. Campaign officials say the rally represents the climax of months of mobilisation that covered all wards, communities, and local government areas in Ekiti State.
The campaign council noted that the presence of national figures, including APC governors, ministers, and National Assembly members, underscores the strategic importance of the state within the party.
It also reflects growing confidence in Oyebanji’s leadership and his administration’s performance across key sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, security, and youth empowerment. Party stakeholders argue that the Oyebanji mega rally is a demonstration of unity and continuity within the APC structure in Ekiti State.
Supporters of the governor highlight what they describe as significant achievements over the past four years, particularly in infrastructure development, social services, and economic growth.
The campaign council stated that Oyebanji’s governance style, which emphasises inclusion and accessibility, has earned him widespread acceptance among residents. They also noted endorsements from traditional rulers, market leaders, professional groups, youth organisations, civil servants, and religious bodies across the state.
The Oyebanji mega rally is expected to serve as a political statement of unity and consolidation ahead of the upcoming election. Organisers say it will reaffirm the commitment of Ekiti people to continue on what they describe as a path of stability, development, and inclusive governance.
The campaign council urged supporters to turn out in large numbers while assuring that security and logistics arrangements have been put in place for a peaceful gathering. As preparations reach their peak, attention now turns to Ado-Ekiti, where the rally is expected to mark one of the most significant political events in the state’s recent history.
